Welcome

Garryndruig Riding Club is affiliated to the Association of Irish Riding Clubs (AIRC) and was formed in 2006. It is based at the West Cork Equine Centre, Kilbrittain, Co Cork. The founding members met for their first ride-out in June 2006 and activities have continued since then with club meetings and activities every second week. Mounted activities, such as lessons, clinics and competitions usually take place on Monday evenings. The Club benefits from the use of indoor and outdoor arenas, which allows activities to take place all year round. Occasionally, members travel to other riding centres at weekends to use their facilities, particularly for cross-country training, or to take part in competitions organised by other clubs. Friendly and informal competitions with nearby clubs are becoming a regular feature of the riding calendar. Membership

The club caters for members of all abilities, especially inexperienced riders and those who do not own their own horse. Horses are available to hire from the West Cork Equine Centre Riding School. Members are affiliated to the AIRC and are entitled to take part in AIRC local, regional or national competitions. Membership for 2011 costs €80 for full members or €20 for members of other clubs who wish to become associate members. Application forms can be obtained from the Club Secretary or downloaded here
